Well, it was Adrian's 3rd dressage comp today. Went to Lordsbridge, warmed up okay despite slightly dodgy surface & did our test. I thought it went all right, apart from our usual prob of not being able to halt, so was a bit disappointed only to get 60%.

It turned out to be one of those days with a hard marking judge, so in fact that was good enough for 3rd, plus we've qualified for the trailblazers 2nd round.

I was really, really pleased & surprised to do so well as there were some extremely nice horses there. With my last horse, it often seemed that we were trying & trying & trying but were stuck in a rut, & it's an unbelievable relief to feel that I'm finally getting somewhere after years of uninspiring results!

All credit to Adrian - he's only 5 & has always done jumping comps at Lordsbridge, so he was a good boy to settle & get on with the job. It took 18 months for Cat to understand that the dressage bell didn't mean that he was supposed to run off & jump something!

Well done.
