Hello!
Just wondering if anyone ever goes to these? I want to go to the one next weekend, but looking at the schedule it doesn't seem to start til 10.45am, and there are about 5 classes

Any ideas how long each one lasts? I want to do the 2'6 and 2'9 classes but never been there before (know the surface etc isn't great but really want to try the trailblazers thing). Only matters really as I have 3 to ride on a sunday and need to work out how I fit it around competing my lad!!
I tried to call the centre and ask but no reply?!
One more question...do they usually take entries on the day?
Thanks!

Hi, good luck if your going there, as it's been raining don't wear anything white or un-washable! Most shows they take entries on the day and the first classes 2'3 and 2'6 are usually huge! They do have a web site which may have more info? Good Luck!

The outdoor arena does get quite wet, i went their to do the 2nd round trailblazers last year, won't complain too much as i did qualify for the finals!

i would think it would take about 2 hours to do the first class, but i would rather be there early than late. if it is close by to you, give them a call in the morning just as the first class is about to begin, they should have a rough guess as to how many there will be in the 2'3.
good luck, wish i was at home to go but hey uni comes first!

Ok thanks. Maybe I should do the 2'3 and 2'6....are trailblazers courses usually fairly tricky? Last couple of competitions I've been to I've jumped 2'9 and 3'0 classes and done one BN, but never won any money (case of 4-fault-itis!). Only been jumping him 6 months to be fair, he was a maniac to jump before that! Really really want to go double clear and qualify 2nd round. Would that be pot-hunter-ish though do you think? Hmm not sure what to do now!

Yeah, thats what I though, did also jump a Discovery but knocked up a bit of a cricket score, mainly because I nearly po*ed myself when I saw the jumps....they look rather big when the horse is only 14.3 don't they! He can jump 1.10 at home no problem but thats a single fence rather than a course though.
Really want to qualify 2nd rnd though, would it be naughty to do the smaller one?! Would really I guess

Cool thanks! It is pretty dark in there isn't it?! Did you do just the 2'6? Looks quite reasonably sized. What sort time did you jump?
Thanks
Emma

Its really not THAT busy there, I went a few weeks ago and we were finished with the 2ft9 by 2-3pm. If you have more than one horse just let them know and they will space your rides out.

Warmup is mucky but bearable, not as bad as it was, but still dont wear anything you love. Indoors is darkish but manageable. If you want to qualify its worth going!

Good luck!

The courses aren't too bad, and as i am away at uni i can't get too picky about where to compete when i do go home. Think we are aiming for the 85cm and 95cm this year for Trailblazers. Its good fun.
Malthouse has a nice atmosphere i found, and its not the brighest of indoor arenas but you can see!!
good luck
