Hi,
My husband and I are looking to buy a 2 horse trailer with living.
We thought we had found the perfect trailer in the Equitrek Show Trekka L because the hores are rear facing, there is living area and we have a car that can tow up to 3t.
However, we are noticing a few cautionary tales about Equitrek. I've read loads about after sales service so I don't need to know any more about that, but have now heard that right sided ramps are potentially illegal in the UK because horses must be unloaded in to the verge if you have an accident on the motorway or dual carriageway. We wondered whether the reason the ramps are right sided is to keep the one-sided weight difference to the middle of the road and prevent tipping when carrying two horses but does anyone know for sure?
A friend of a friend has said there is a dutch company that make trailers very similar to Equitrek, but she couldn't remember the name of them. We have found Westfalia by tedious internet searching (in Dutch!) and they fit the bill except they are forward facing, rear loading with no separate off ramp.
Any suggestions or clarification on the right-sided ramp would be greatly appreciated!
