Can anyone recommend somewhere in the North west to replace a trailer floor? Bonus points if they don't want to charge a couple hundred quid just for a quote 🤦🏻‍♀️

Is ‘Trot On Trailers’ near you? I see positive things on Facebook about them.

Possibly too far East, but ‘URO Trailers’ in York are highly recommended, too.

Based in N Wales but they travel so it would depend exactly where you are but worth a call or message

These guys are really excellent! They’ve done all my trailer servicing and repairs, they are reliable, won’t rip you off and have gone the extra mile for me a few times!

barlow’s have a reputation for being really hard work to get hold of in terms of repairs, at least near me, as they only want to sell new!

Burnley auto mechanical is brilliant, cannot sing his praises enough - replaced the ramp on my box, amongst other things! very fairly priced, i’ve popped over with the old trailer at very short notice for him to have a look at it, happy to advise me on it without taking a penny from me

Thank you everyone, I'll be contacting all recommendations today, I'm booked in with Cheshire trailers but they want a fair chunk of money just to look at it which usually means they're going to over price the work because they don't really want the job (I work in a vaguely similar industry and see this often so puts me off)

I used them a few months ago to replace the lighting and do some other jobs and didn't have any problems with them. They quoted first. They did want to do other things to the trailer I haven't had done yet. This was the Croston branch.

I would try West Coast Trailers in Cumbria based n Workington if not too far, have bought mine from him and if I was closer I'd use for servicing and repairs as reasonable and very honest

If you find someone to do it ask them about buffalo board, it's what we've used in my trailer renovation. Also called phenolic board.

Apart from being water and moisture resistant, Phenolic boards are resistant to fire, cracks, scratches and graffiti, and can be used for both wet and dry applications. Safe to use – Phenolic panels are non-porous and non-microbial, and resist mold, bacteria, fungi and mildew. Was around £140 a board from memory.

I'm finding this with all of them tbh, the only one I've had a reply from is the company that wants me to pay a hefty fee just for a quote, at first I was thinking maybe it's because it's not an ifor williams or equi-trek but maybe none of them can be bothered with any repair work anymore as they make easier money on sales 🤷‍♀️

even as a new client i found the person i recommended brilliant, he was really easy to get hold of and he was happy to answer multiple questions over whatsapp, again before i’d even given him any money😂

If you are in the area of Cheshire Trailers then look up Phil Cornforth (PC Mobile Trailer Servicing) on Facebook.
I had a side wall replaced by Cheshire Trailers and they are very thorough but definitely not the cheap option. I used them for 2 reasons: 1, I know one of them through family, 2 I thought my horse had cracked the chassis on my trailer and wanted it to get fully checked and lifted if needed.
Phil comes to me and does routine servicing or repairs as required. Definitely worth a call.
