What would you say is the going rate for example weekend/monthly hire of a horse trailer (something to carry up to a 16h in my case).

I pondering over hiring out a trailer but not sure what the going rates are, whats cheap or whats classed as expensive.

Also if you are hire a trailer, will it be already insured, will they need to deliver it and check where it will be stored? (which is fine in my case but I'm thinking for their insurance purposes etc) and obvioulsy it won't be me that tows it, it would have to be my OH using my father's vehical, will this effect things?

I guess I just want to know ideally what questions I should be asking when enquiring about one, I've never hired one before.

Any info would be mucy appreicated, thanks.

I don't know about weekly / monthly hire but around here (herts), to hire one for a day / 36 hours costs about £60. you go there and pick it up as they need to see credit card and insurance details etc.

around here (cotswolds) it's about £40 for an ifor for 24hrs. You pick it up, drop it off, insure it and sort breakdown (the person who has the car needs to make sure their insurance company knows that it will be used for towing). hth
