Hi all,

Hope someone knowledgable on here can help.

Problem - Show on Sat @ Southwell, Notts, horse at yard in Ravenshead, Notts.

Original Plan, Local experienced person to take me and my friend from yard to show.
Hitch - Person is on Holiday,
2nd Plan, Friends step dad tows above persons trailer and we get a new numberplate cut.
Hitch - Need some special tariler insurance we have been told?
(clueless here as only kind of insurance I can find is like theft insurance)

3rd Plan - Ring East Mids horse transport, as been advised Bob is excellent and reasonable,
Hitch - fully booked.......

Any ideas? what is the extra insurance and how do we get it? any other good firms? anyone on here want to earn some extra cash and go to trent valley lol?

Am really gutted as really just got her going at home and over at blidworth and wanted to see how a strange arena would affect us (badly I assume but gotta start somewhere)

Would like to shrug shoulders and wait til next one, but I have to work weekends sometimes plus getting kids taken care of while I'm at a show is tricky etc etc

All suggestions gratefully rcvd btw I can't afford to buy my own lorry or a 4*4 and trailer

The insurance may be for taking you as new laws I think your not supposed to trail others but not sure. Anyway ring Appleyards trailers he will advise or rent you a trailer and will probably already have the insurance so give him I will pm you the details as I'm not sure I am supposed to put them on here

If you can't insure a trailer you don't own, then I think you assume that it doesn't need insuring as long as you have the permission of it's owner to use it. Now you've mentioned it, I seem to remember that was the case when I borrowed my works trailer a few years ago. But it's probably worth checking with the car insurer.
