trailer opinions, horse weight etc

My 14.2 mare weighs 445kg (exactly as weighed on the bridge at RVC) so I think a 15.3 tbx would definately weigh more than that.

Plus even if it weighed 445kg's exactly, you couldn't go adding a haynet, or water carriers etc

the horse in question is a 15.3hh tbx fairly light.

Either do the maths on your horses body weight or weightape it

If you come in under 445kgs I'd be suprised but if you do and need to put water etc in put it in the car

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but what you have not done the math on, is the possibility of having to stop on a steep hill and your car not having the guts to pull you up from a dead stop. The same problem applies to going downhill. You may think you can avoid such routes but what happens if there is an accident and you are forced onto a diversion. It is just not worth it. Either get the correct vehicle, or do not risk towing with a car that is not up to the job.

What car and trailer? It doesn't sound like enough to me when you have to bear in mind the weight of tack, rugs etc etc also. As said above you need the power in a tow vehicle to get you out of trouble.
