I've just bought a trailer and I'm thinking ahead to winter and towing in the dark. I'm a little worried about side-on visibility when people join dual carriageways or on roundabouts. I don't think the IFW trailers have a ton of lighting visible from the side.

Has anyone else had this concern and is there an elegant solution? The options that I can think of are reflective tape or some of that self-adhesive battery powered strip lighting.

I was literally on ebay last night looking for reflective tape for this exact reason...

I spoke to the guy who does my services and he suggested this and inside to put some strip lighting.

You can buy reflective plates that glue/screw on to the sides I was looking at some but never got around to fitting them, just be aware you comply with Red - Rear, White - Front, Yellow/Black - Rear and Amber - Side.

Tape is a good idea too, Light Grey trailers are hard to see from the side in fog, I would think about swapping out the lights on an IW if they are bulb lights for the new LED ones, much brighter and no maintenance.
