Following on from the which trailer threads just wondering why the horsey magazines never test trailers ?? pick a magazine up and see transport feature !! for about 30 seconds you think oh good this will be interesting then you look and its yet another load of flannel and guff with manufatures promo matirial and then a half hearted go at explaining laws !!!!
WHY DONT they get a few trailers and actualy road test them ??? take horses out and find out the pros and cons of the various makes or are the people who write these magazines non horsey!!! come on editors do something worthwhile instead of yet another are you a good owner or why pareli is the answer article!!!

Hmm suprised people dont want to see trailers tested, magazines are right and im wrong !! looking forward to the next how pink lead ropes can improve your horses confidence article.
:D

I'd like to see second hand trailer testing, I'd be interested in the pros and cons of the various older style trailers (seeing as I can't afford a new one)!

Pahahah!!! Yep.

Missed your post yesterday (was out playing mahjong) but agree that there needs to be a Jeremy Clarkson-esque trailer test...

Perhaps the editors of H&H might sponsor you?

That would be really good actually. I hadn't ever thought about it until you said it but yeah. That would be good wouldn't it?

They could grade them things you actually care about. How easy the ramps are, how easy to hitch they are, can you horse actually reach the haynet if you tie it up (a problem I know people had with the new 511), that kind of thing and which options you might actually want to shell out for and which aren't worth it.

It wouldn't even take long to work through them. How many do we actually see regularly in this country? Ifors, Batesons, Equitreks, Fautras occasionally. They could cover the main makes in no time (for new trailers) and then start on second hand reviews for good measure :)
