Hello everyone!

I have an Ifor Williams HB510 trailer, which I adore. When I bought it, it came with a Titan Bulldog wheel lock. Words cannot express how much I hate this device! I have found it fiddly and impossible to use, and in fact have given up on using it!

I really want to protect the trailer - preferably with a hitch lock and a wheel lock - and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for specific locks to get. Must NOT be fiddly, must be relatively easy to use!

Thanks in advance,

Isabelle

As a victim of trailer theft (my lovely 510 classic), I have to say that if the thieves want your trailer they will take it whatever is on it. Mine had one of those big yellow Keep-It hitch locks and a bulldog wheel clamp. They bent the wheel clamp off and left it for me and we think just pushed the trailer out of the yard. All you can do is fulfil your insurance requirement and hope no-one takes a fancy :(

I am afraid that all the hitch locks can be broken by thieves within seconds and are not much of a deterent.
Your best bet is to have the roof of the trailer postcoded in large letters and any glass windows etched with your postcode. Also paint the post code inside the trailer.
If you can park your trailer in such a way that it is boxed in by three walls and a steel girder security barrier with a boxed in lock in front of it that will also protect it from theft.
