Seeing as I now own the trailer I've dreamed of having for years, I wondered what security measures I should take.

Not so much for home as it's very securely stored at home, but more whilst parked at PC, farm rides, hunt meets etc.

What do you all have on your trailers? My wheels have a centre hub cover thing on them which sticks out a bit...just between the wheel nuts and are steel rims.

My hitch lock to the old trailer doesn't fit this one as the handle/locking bit of the hitch impedes it.

at home when it is parked up wre have a hitch lock, wheel clamp, a frame T bar into the ground and a tracker

however when it is parked at a comp then its just the hitch lock and the tracker

We have a wheel clamp for at home, put on the back wheel.
Hitch locks aren't much use as a determined thief would just chain the trailer to their vehicle.
We don't use anything at shows etc as the car is always on the front and locked on. I suppose a thief could probably break the tow hitch or tow bar to get the trailer if they really wanted but it would damage it to much to sell.
Then again I don't think anything you put on it would stop a thief as a disc grinder would cut most things off.

at home wheel clamp. at shows the hitch is locked on the landrover, my insurance says it must be attached to the vehicle to be covered. might be worth checkinbg your car / trailer insurance

I have a hitch lock and wheel clamp. When I'm at a ride, comp, schooling, I leave the trailer locked onto the car tow hitch and put the wheel clamp on as well. This is a condition of my insurance and it might be worth checking you policies JIC.

I've been told any wheel clamp will do, doesn't necessarily have to be marked "insurance approved" as far as our insurance rep says. (We spend a good £15k a year insuring the entire farm etc with them).

It does have a lockable hitch and I do lock it to the car at all times. However, the wheel clamp I have is a Milenco and I was startled to realise it could be removed from the wheel just by jacking the trailer up!

I have always wanted a Richardson trailer, so I don't want to lose it!

At home wheel clamp and hitch lock. When I go out I lock the trailer onto the Landy. The only time I put the clamp on the trailer when out is if I am hunting and the car is unhitched for someone to follow in it.

I have a wheel clamp on mine and i I always put in on the back wheel.
I am looking into have it 'postcoded' as well on the roof.

at home its got a tracker, bulldog hitch lock and a bulldock wheel clamp. At a show its just hitched to my car, the hitched locked on but to be honest the car/trailer is not usually left for that long unattended.

At home, I remove two wheels from one side and the spare then put a wheel clamp on the back wheel of the other side plus we have a hitch lock. It is kept behind two padlocked gates.
At a show I leave it locked onto my landrover but if we go out for a hack somewhere I will take the wheel clamp too.
If all that fails - its insured!

We have 2 wheel locks (on diagonal wheels) and a hitch lock when it's parked at the yard, and when we go hacking we usually put a wheel lock on it. The hitch doesn't lock onto the car as it's a strange french trailer. It's a very large white 3 horse trailer of which there are only a couple in this country so it's not as desirable to thieves as a blue ifor.

I was told our Richardson wasn't as desirable as there aren't as many about as Ifors....but I don't want to chance it. It's not rare in the sense that your trailer is.

my friend has a bulldog lock and wheel clamp.
she had her trailer broken into and it was the bull dog that saved it. she needs to get someone out though as now she cant get it off either!
she clamps it at a show if she unhitches from the car.
