Very exciting.

Now i am trailer shopping and need to pass my trailer test. I have heard you can do intensive courses with the test at the end. Does anyone know where i can do these/cost etc etc?? I'd really like to get it done and out of the way asap

So far google has only give me places really far away, i'm in kent so would like somewhere in south est really.

Well, the test is £105. If you google it, several sites will come up- I can't remember the names of any but am sure some were Kent/Essex....I'm Bucks and also looking, but the courses around here were extorntionate!!

try and find a driving instructor who also does trailer tests as it will be far far far cheaper than paying for hgv company to teach you at probably best part of £700!

If your 4x4 has a tow bar allready try and borrow a sub 750kg trailer, but not one of those tiny ones from ebay, block the back window with a bin liner and dirve to a closed car park for a bit of reversing parctice.

As long as you take it slowly reversing it really is not that difficult.

Just rmember to stay straight turn the steering wheel to which ever wing mirror you see the trailer appearing in.

I did my trailer driving test with Trailer Training UK, in Hampshire. The chap who taught me was great. I did a two day intensive course, and used my own shogun, but his trailer. I'd practice the reversing before you do the course, then its just a matter of brushing up. You have to learn to drive to pass the test, then good trailer driving comes from just plain old practice. Its worth spending an extra £100-200 on a professional course, than any old driving instructor, because if you fail the test and have to retake - you have to spend another £100 anyway. Its one of those 'lesser of two evils'.
PS if you do the training in your own vehicle and pay cash - you'll get a discount.....worth enquiring. Good luck.

i did my training with a guy from Reigate - Chevron driving school. he was good, he only taught me for as long as i needed, not out to make loads of money from me. i was crippled by nerves in ,y 1st test and failed, but it wasn't his fault as i was totally ready. i retook it a week later and sailed through with only 3 minors and a lot of positive thinking.
