1. How long after passing your driving test can you take the trailer test? (passed test in March '07)

2. Where is the closest test centre to Hartlepool?

3. What car can you take it in? (I have an estate with towbar- max towing limit is 1000kg braked, 900kg unbraked).

4. How much does it usually cost?

I think that's everything!

I think you can take your trailer test as soon as you want after your driving test. No idea about Hartlepool, probably best to email the DVLA and ask. No idea about car weight, look here though as I think this covers it:

It is rather pricey IMO. Lessons cost me I think (cant remember!) £25/£30 an hour even with my own jeep and trailer (as you can sometimes borrow theirs but no cheaper when I asked!). The test itself is about £110, but I cant remember exactly. It is more expensive at weekends of course.

Good luck! I hated the test, passed on the 3rd time!

Hi,
I am currently having lessons for my trailer test. As far as I know you can take it as soon as you like after your test. I would go on google and search for approved places for you to get lessons etc. I am having lessons which are costing £650 for 4 four hour long sessions, this includes test fee £89 and use of vehicle and trailer (ive got my own but might as well use theirs!!). I would ring up the people who are in charge of it (I've got a number at home, they advised me what my car could legally pull etc). It does seem an awful lot of money, but if you like me have to take the test youve got to do it!!
hope this helps!
