Hello all, I am doing my trailer test in a few weeks and before that I also have a couple of days intensive training.

For all those that have done their test can you tell me about it and give me any advice?

I would search for posts relating to this but I can't figure out how to search for specific posts anymore....am I just being dumb?

Also more importantly on the car requirements for the test it says that is has to have either a visual or audible device which shows that the trailer indicators are working. My Mitsubishi Pajero is so old and an import so it doesnt have this, any one know what to do????

Any advice is much appreciated, thanks

As for the audio warning, just take car down to local tar bar centre and have one fitted. Not a major job.

What age is your Paj? Mine is M reg, 95 and it does have one as standard. When you hook up the trailer and plug in the elecs it makes a beeping noise when you indicate

There were a few posts recently so i'll see if I can dig them out

i did my test bout a year ago, its just like doing your test again dont panic, especially if your confident towing anyway. main things are observation, your expected to check mirrors all the time - i felt dizzy after my test. as regards the lights you are expected to test all the lights work at start of test so switch on lights and hazards get out and walk around car and trailer. also got to hitch up, discuss condition of car and trailer, know the increase in breaking distances. reversing exercise u need to turn trailer in reverse and then back it into a make shift garage where the rear of the trailer needs to be within a 3ft section at the back, and then i did a emergency stop. all the exercises and stuff are done off road at test center, then you go for 40min drive.
