I just wrote an essay and deleted it... boils down to will a really quite chunky 16hh horse (she's wide, 700kg nearly on a weigh tape and only just squeezes in a full size lunge roller... with a bum to match) fit in an Ifor 505. Or do I need to be looking at 506, or even 510 or 511. The trailer I really want is a Fautras Provan but I think their internal dimensions are similar to a 505, so on the smaller end? We would mostly be only taking one horse but it would be nice to be able to buddy up too so want her to fit in one side of it not have to go for full length breast bars etc.

I have a 506 and although the head room is the same height as the 511, it sounds as though you need 511. All the dimensions are on the Ifor Williams site.

I have looked up dimensions but the numbers don't necessarily help me decide if she will fit. I'll probably end up asking people at the yard if I can try their trailers for size before we go and buy one... just wondered if anyone on here could offer insight. Especially as I really fancy a Fautras but there definitely isn't one of those on the yard yet!

I would have thought she'd fit in but would be a tight squeeze. I wouldn't buy a 505 if you're wanting to regularly travel another horse with her.

When I'm just travelling one I always take partition out, never found a horse that travelled better with a partition than without

We squeeze our slim 490kg 16.3 into our 505, with loads of room can easily take a 2nd but smaller in height horse/pony, but I'd suggest you need the width of a 510 or 511. The 506 is longer inside as the bodywork goes furhter over the hitch but it's not wider than the 505.
