Hi all, i dont post here often.....just lurk!
can someone help me?
if the elctrics are not working on a trailer, what could the problem be?
is it expensive to fix?

thanks

Em

Which electrics? Could be a bulb gone. My internal light doesn't work beacuse a cable has been damaged, needs me to have enought time to rewire that one.

Have you got any lights at all?

If not it could be that someone has driven off with the plug still in the socet of your car/4x4 and pulled all the wires out but the cable is still clamped inside the plug so it looks attached from the outside.

Spray some WD 40 on the contacts of the socket and the plug and check all the bulbs

spray WD40 into the socket on your car and give it all a good wiggle! that usually works, if not best get it checked out, a friend recently had a rewire done on her old richardson think it was about £100 for the full rewire

If the trailer electrics are really screwed up then it would be much cheaper to buy a trailer board which is already wired up & attach that to the rear of your trailer than to get it re wired.

It's pretty easy to re wire a trailer in all honesty as long as your methodical and don't rush the job. I have details of trailer pin sockets for wiring etc.

Socket could aslo be damaged on the towing vehicle and some of the pins loosen with time.

Need to really know what's happening when you say electrics not working first.
