My friend has a Bateson (white with yellow on) think that looks quite nice and i think (but don't quote me on this) is fibreglass - it certainly looks it but i could be mistaken, am no trailer expert. Also quite like those ones with a french name (can't remember what it is! They look like Equi-trek type things)
I LOVE my Bateson Ascot. Light, airy, stays cool (being white), light to tow, quiet to tow, loackable tack compartment, the works. Can't fault it. Also unloads on the right side - if (god forbid) you had to unload roadside the front door opens grass verge side, not road side like the Ifors. Great trailer.
I have used a Rice, a (brand new) Ifor Williams and a Bateson, and I would definitely recommend the Bateson, they're lighter than an Ifor williams, and the front ramp is on the left hand side, so that if you have to unbox on the side of the road the horse is not heading straight out into the traffic. Beats the Ifor Williams on looks too. (As long as you are prepared to wash it, white being rather unforgiving on that front). Equitreks look great, but I have no personal experience of them, they are pricey though.
I absolutely love my Ifor Williams. It's Blue (never seen a blue cattle truck) with a red interior (no red interior on cattle trucks) and it;s just fantastic!!
My friend has a Rice and keeps having to do work to it - its 9 years old and mine is 7 years old and looks brand new in comparison to hers.
I like the Batesons though and think I would have bought one if I could find one but they arent as common as Ifor Williams.
I have a Bateson Deauvill 55. It is a brilliant trailer, light and bright inside and also a good lighweight trailer to tow. Takes 2 x 17hh horses with good headroom.
It's up for sale now as I have a lorry. Anyone interested!?
