Hi, I am going to ride in Hyde Park, travelling on sat 27th dec ftom cheshunt, it takes about 50 mins to lancaster gate.
I will be returning to cheshunt after sightseeing stuff. Next day one way from cheshunt in to london for sightseeing.

What are the ticket options?
Is it best to pay on the day for the cheshunt to totenham hale return, then borrow an oystercard, or any other options, would a visitor oystercard work on train?

Not sure about prices, but if you have a contactless debit / credit card now you can use that instead of an oyster card, it charges the same prices.

No we don t have those things "Up North " my main thing is that I am starting outside greater london, also buying in advance is cheaper than on the day, I think.
I might go to our local station, but will be lucky to find anyone who knows what happens south of Carlisle :)

ty, my bro is giving me his oystercard ...... I don t know how he has one as he is not a resident! Will just hope for the best with it, never heard of zone 8, there must be some geographic limit, but it is difficult to determine.
He lent me card last time and I think I probably zeroed it [journey interrupted] and I never oystered out :( but hey, he either has not found out yet, or has forgiven me :)

I never know either and I live here! They keep extending it for the commuters outside I guess.

I just tend to ask my OH. He's my walking, talking human map. He gets cross as he's from Wales and only lived down here for a few years but yet knows his way around better than I do!
Not sure if this will help?

Oystercards never expire so it might be worth getting one and keeping it safe for future visits?

Not anymore now that you can use contactess. It costs the same as an Oyster over a day as they both charge the same and have a daily cap but can be cheaper if you use it over several days as contactless has a weekly cap which oyster does not.

Plus with oyster pay as you go you have to load it first and top up as necessary.
