Hi

Just looking for some advice on trainers in the Lancashire area that can come out to me.

I have a 7 yr old gelding, I've had him for nearly 3 years and it's been a bit of a rollercoaster. Hes always been quite sharp since I got him as a 4 year old, which hasnt been helped with work not being consistent due to my pregnancy. He's been sent away a couple of times but I find when he comes back I still struggle with him myself and we are at a point that I'm really starting to lose my confidence with him and having to consider selling him to someone more capable.

I really want to avoid going down that route as I love him so much we have such a good bond on the ground. So rather than send him away again I'm looking for someone who can come and help me on how best to ride him, ideally someone who will also get on him to get a feel of him. He's not the easiest of horses and he needs consistent work to keep him level headed. After a few weeks off im trying to bring him back into work but having alot of trouble even getting him to stand for me at a mounting block at the moment and the whole thing stresses him out so much that when I eventually get on him he either rears or does whatever he can to get me off. His back and tack have all been checked there's no pain at all with him and his saddle has been fitted to him.

This is my last chance now with him to get us working together nicely so someone sympathetic with confidence issues is needed. At the moment our battles together are just making him more on edge and me more nervous of him every time we try to move forward.

He's such a good horse, very well bred and so talented and I really dont want to give up but we just seem to be hitting a wall whenever I try to get anywhere.
