Hi any recomendations for a trainer who works on the rider's postion as well as the horse's way of going (some just work on the horse) but the two really go hand in hand.

I'm prepared to travel within reason but East Midlands area.

A friend is going to a Jill Day clinic tomorrow so am awaiting a report back on that tomorrow and someone else I know is giving Andrew Day a whirl but I know when I've asked about him on here before some have said he doesn't really work on the rider, more the horse.

Recommendations please. Thank you.

Surely any good trainer works on both?

A sack of potatoes (me, I'm sure not you) is never going to get the best out of a horse!

I would say the two go hand in hand but I know where you are coming from as I recently swapped trainers and went from getting 64.3% to 73.8% in an unafilliated prelim test (same judge same test) we have spent 6 weeks working on me and him

After zillions of lessons and being told many different things on my position and sometimes feeling that I was irritating the hell out of the instructor for not 'getting it', I would suggest that the best, absolutely best lesson was a ride on a mechanical horse with Becky Chapman at Ashen Equestrian Centre.

Becky is a born teacher, and really understand the bio-mechanics of the body, so rather than just identify the problem (which the printout from the mechanical horse verifies) she also has pretty good clue how to put it right!!

It is a little bit of a hike for you as in Suffolk, but if you have just one lesson there, every other lesson you ever have in the whole of your life will make so much more sense.

Cant give it a better write up than that!!!
