Sorry... on a roll tonight!!

Again in Emile's write up this week..... "a really good Judge can reward progress within the current system and it would help to involve trainers more in educating Judges. That way Judges learn not just what something looks like when its good but how riders get there and what the inbetween stages should be"....Bravo!! How many times I have heard "keep on with your training, although the Judges may not like the look of now..... the future is what you are looking for.. ie... you horse may make a few "blips" but generally relaxed, seeking a contact, not that up yet as only prelim level... etc etc... I got marked down as my horse was not "up" enough...he was working at prelim level at the time!!! Sorry... he was not able to as he did not have sufficient muscle, BUT he showed rhythm, balance etc... I was not about to do this just to get good scores.... am I alone on this?? Judges, by the way, you are FAB, and do much for us, for not much...... but surely a "fund" from BD to help Judges eduction would not go amiss!!!!!!! Am I talking out of term here!!

I agree - i think it would definately be beneficial if trainers helped out judges. Like you say (and Emile said) it would mean that the judges would be able to tell wen a competitor is 'on thier way' to achieving a certain movement correctly and at that 'inbetween' state.

Personally i loved Emile's column, i think he talks a lot of sense!!

I did find it funny when he said he hated judging the X-Factor competition tho, as it wasnt his thing!!

He shouldn't have done it as it came across as 'not his thing' on the night, he didn't really enter into the spirit of the evening I don't think, some one a little more light hearted was needed me thinks

I thought that as well, he was definitely in keeping with his Simon Cowell tag though

It was a great evening but it would have been nice to have some commentary of what was going in the displays, I felt

So how/what can BD do to help fund all you judges out there? How do they do it in other countries... surely they are "not considerably richer than us!!"
