Hi everyone, does anyone have any advice for training for a BHS stage 4 exam? I'm looking to sit mine at Blackdyke and I'm based in Glasgow . Thanks guys.

hiya,

there is a careers section on the forum which does actually still work so you might want to try posting in there. The only other advice I have is a bit random! I am training towards my stage 3 and have bought a work book for the pony club A test. I think the format of the test is slightly different but I believe it is up to stage 4 level. The work book is well written, easy to follow and has lots of relevant theory all together. It comes in a folder so you can add in your own pages etc. I have found it useful so thought maybe other people might too. I guess most of the other advice is the usual ride as many different horses as you can, work/help at competition yards, maybe follow a farrier for a day or two, do some dressage writing for judges, get very fit, get assessed by someone who knows the standard etc etc.

Good luck!!
