im looking for a good place to take my horse and self to in prob September/Oct for a few days flatwork training with maybe the option of lesson on mine in the morning/schoolmaster/lunge in the pm etc. I have lorry so can travel hour or two from South East...anyone done this or recommend..someone mentioned Talland and another Wellington...

I'm planning to do exactly this in Sept/Oct as I've missed a lot of riding this year due to broken arm and want to make up for lost time. I fancy Talland for a week (got the brochure), can't remember why I prefer it over Wellington but am open to suggestions. Also in the South East + have transport. Want to make a group up ????? HHO riding club camp ??

hmmm well Talland seems good on website..someone else suggested Catherston but heard that Jenny LC is a demon...would like to go to Andrew Goulds but not sure I would be able to concentrate if he started trying to sort out my seat bones !..more research I think...BD whereabouts are you in SE??

I rode at Talland a couple of times with uni. They had some lovely horses and good instructors. It was a few years ago and I think that they might have a new posher place now. Also rode at Wellington - with Uni. Their horses were nice but maybe not quite the same caliber as Talland's. Wellington would however be closer as that is near Reading and Talland I think is Gloucester way ish.

I was have been looking at a weekendy type camp at Milton Keynes Eventing Centre I think that had all 3 disiplines on offer. Think it was just on your own horse though.

oh quite near me then, im in Tatsfield about 20 mins from Bromley!!!..Frogpool is my fav local saddlery fix!!
Beach pic was taken last year in Norfolk...just come back last week from there again but can post the pics for some reason on laptop !!

Im not sure about Andrew and resi courses ...way too much temptation I think!!!..although hes only down in Sussex...I have lessons with Amy Stovold via my RC and shes good and based in Sussex too..mind you fancy going a bit further so it feels like a holiday!!!!

Yes, not far at all. I have regular lesson with Tom from Frogpool plus occassional lessons/clinics with Gill Wise. Mostly into dressage but hoping to get some jump lessons on whatever course/holiday I end up doing. Would be nice to go somewhere with some good scenery and decent hacks like the Cotswolds.

Lots to see in our area this weekend. Ben Maher clinic @ Frogpool Saturday day and Carl Hester @ Oldencraig Saturday Night - pleasure overload !!!

I have done a few three day courses at Contessa Riding Centre before, and thought they were good and reasonably priced.

It is in Ware in Hertfordshire though...
