Okay, so the horsey link is tenuous
blush.gif
, but we're looking at houses west Wales way and we'll be able to have our horses at home

Then all will be happy (I hope!).

Anyhoo, I'll need to get to London say once a week (and back again lol). So far the shortest route I've found is from Bangor (nearly five hours
blush.gif
). No doubt I'm being a complete numpty...

We're talking to someone about a house just on the edge of the peninsula we we would be Bangor side rather than Aberystwyth.

Any thoughts/hlep would be greatly appreciated

there are talks of creating a direct link from Aber. to London- at present it's a choice between Aber. to Brum. to London or Carmarthen, to Cardiff to London. Wales is a great country by the way, don't knock it!!

Had another look at the times and was cheered to note that I can go straight through from Bangor to Euston in about three and a quarter hours

Given that I used to ride a motorbike from Nottingham to the City (London) and it could take five hours easily on a Monday morning, four hours total journey with the train taking the strain sounds good to me

That's the one that we use and you can get good deals on the prices if you book early. The only problem is that the earliest that you can get into Euston is after 9am so early meetings are out

J says Do Not Move To Wales. He tried, hated it, and ended up here (which he loves

But that doesn't help with the trains ...

^^^ agree spent 22 years living near and working in aberystwyth and 2 years ago i escaped. Best thing i ever did. Wouldnt advise going that way uless you want to lose all sense of reality, your mind and be brought down to thier sad, unimaginative, lack of desire to better themselves, never experience anything, pathetic lives. Also after 22 years being there from the age of 3, i was still classes as an outsider. They dont take to well to 'foreigners' sorry if it offends any welsh people, some of you are nice but the majority arnt.

Do not listen to all that stuff about Wales being bad for your health...Its great even if you weren't born here. Low crime rate, quiet roads, friendly locals (yes, really, just don't throw your weight about). Trains are crap tho' - just reconcile yourelf to driving.

Lol, half my heritage is Welsh so I'd be going home to m'roots as it were
wink.gif
Have told all that they'll have to learn Welsh, or at least the basics (I not good with languages
blush.gif
).

Nooooooooooo trains must be good! Aint no way I'm driving into central London on a Monday morning
frown.gif
blah.

bloody insult i say!! i am not welsh but married into a very welsh family 25 years ago. i have had nothing but genuine support and friendliness from everyone since. itdepends on how you are prepared to integrate and accept their way of life- you no doubt weren't suited to such but don't class all welsh the same!!
