I'm heading to university in the US next year, to a college with a fantastic varsity equestrian programme and facilities. It is possible for students to bring their horse with them, which is something I imagine myself looking during my first year and maybe doing for my second year. I just can't bear to part with him for good, having only had him for 18 months - he's perfect!

Does anyone know anything about taking a horse across the Atlantic? Rough price guide? Also how traumatic is it for the horse, how long does it take them to recover etc. Any advice greatly appreciated!
