Last November I bought a 20ft x 8ft shipping container to put at the yard. It is perfectly functional and I love it, but it is very dark and dingy, even with lights. So this weekend I decided to give it a bit of a make over. It isn't finished yet (hopefully tomorrow) but I just wanted to share some pictures with people who will hopefully appreciate my excitement :) (sorry for the large pictures)

Before:

Cleared out and the walls scrubbed (Took blooming ages!)

Primer applied (also took ages!)

I ran out of time to put the colour on, but managed to get one door done to see if I liked it. I LOVE it, but OH wasn't so keen! The whole box, including the ceiling will be yellow, with turquoise cupboards and table. Much brighter!

The yellow looks great, a lovely choice!

I am interested in the water container set up, I take it the hose goes outdoors? how do you fill the container?

Hi WelshD, there is a hole behind the water container that is just big enough for a hose to push through. The hose goes into the top of the container and I fill it that way. I only use it for making sugar beet really, but fill it before winter incase the taps freeze. I have a hose that connects to the tap and goes outside.

More pics to follow shortly :)

That is a lot of work! Well done, it will be great when it's finished.

It has taken about about 14 hours so far (2 of us) and a couple more tomorrow. We took the time to properly clean and prep it so it lasts, but it has been well worth it! I cannot wait to finish it tomorrow and tidy up :)

That's just brilliant, well done you.

tbh I liked it in both formats - even before you started decorating it was miles and miles better than the rotting leaky wooden sheds that I'm stuck with (not sure if I'm hoping my landlady reads this or not - new ones or a container would be nice but she might think I'm a moaning minny).

These shipping containers are great we have one down the yard as the feed / rug room general dumping ground sadly no where near as pretty as yours before or after lol but a useful space, I have another one on a trailer base at home that I have fitted out with cupboards/rug rails/saddle racks and its fantastic if I ever get somewhere with ym own land I will re site it and convert it properly as has electric / gas and water hook ups an ill be re-instating the kitchen and shower :)
