Hello
I have recently had my horses shoes removed. I dont think she had shoes on very long prior to me getting her 3 months ago. She is really doddery on her feet still; im not sure what timescale to expect for her feet to recover? She is very short in the stride I think because her feet are sore. She is currently on about 1/2 an acre and just has a tiny 1ft by 1foot bit of grass in the morning while I get my other mare off the field. She is not lame when trotting just looks a little sore. Any info would be great.Thankyou :)

I can only answer from my own limited experience. My horse had his shoes off a week a go (after about 8 years without a shoeing break, I expect) and is now pretty much fine, but I used boots from the first day when he looked a bit sore and am using them for most work - he seems very happy now and even coping ok with stonier ground.

Thankyou for that I may get some boots to help with the transition! :)
