A client of mine that I teach has asked me to take her to a SJ competition, but I am not sure where I stand re Insurance etc and the new transporting laws? Any info would be great, Thankies!

I think it's ok so long as she doesn't pay you. If it's deemed 'for hire or reward' then you need different insurance. I think it's ok to receive a contribution towards fuel costs but it's a bit of a grey area.

You could get round it by not charging for transport but being paid for a lesson at the competition venue?

Agree with a_a....just charge more for the help you give her at the show. If the transport is 'free' you don't need special insurance. So long as you both have all normal insurances etc you should be fine
