Is there anyway to transport a 3.5t lorry without driving it? For instance if it had broken down down or was not currently road legal?

Could you for instance pop it on a flatbed trailer towed by a Discovery? Or would I need to hire a company to do this on a bigger lorry?

Thanks!

Very unlikely a Disco could tow a trailer with a 3.5T horsebox on top of it legally let alone safely.

If it is driveable, then if it is booked in for an MOT you are allowed to drive it (despite lack of MOT/tax) there provided it is insured at least 3rd party and provided you drive straight from its home to the MOT centre.

Alternatively, get it relayed by a recovery truck/big transporter

A 3.5 tonne van (lorry!!) will weigh just under 2500kgs empty in most cases

A car/van transporter trailer with a 3500 MAM will weight under 1000 unladen

Many B category large 4X4s have a towing capacity of 3500 kgs

JOB SORTED :D
