I may have to take my very overdue in foal mare to the vets surgery. I have an ifor williams that theres no way she is going to fit into with the partition in. I haven't got a full width breast bar, any ideas on how to bodge one? Do you think if you could anchor strawbales they would work?
Very stressed and overtired so brain not working very well...

As far as I'm aware you shouldn't travel a horse in a trailer without a breast bar - I think its against the law and very, very dangerous for all concerned not least the horse. Why can't you adjust the partition so its 3/4 / 1/4 or cannot you not do that with that make of trailer. Dad adjusted my rice/richardson and its been 3/4 / 1/4 for the past 12 years now and my horse loves stretching his legs out and it keeps his balance better.

you could use some pretty herfty chain... personally i'd not risk it though - maybe call your local dealer - they are only £45 i think

I have Ifor 505 full length breast/breech bars, which I am selling, just haven't got round to advertising yet. They are blue. Probs looking for £50 the pair if that's any help to you.

Thanks all, a friend took her in her lorry, so crisis not over but at least shes having it at the right place.

I was wondering if Dixie had foaled yet, now I know.
I don't go into Breeding often, but would appreciate news when she finally gives birth. Hope she is OK.
