I have to transport hay/straw in small bales in my car and keep it clean.

I have seen bale bags that zip up

has any used them and arethey any good? also where can i get them from?

thanks

robinsosns sell them, but can get them in loads of places really.

are very handy, keep the bits from getting wedged in the car carpets

Yep, I've got one. Works great and keeps the car clean enough to stop OH complaining.

Also good for transporting stinky rugs saddles etc without making the car stinky.

wish i could put the dog in one really

Hi. I use an old, cotton, single duvet cover and it works very well on all sizes of bale. Just put the bale in and fold the ends over. You can shake out the duvet cover afterwards, and keep it in the car for next time.

sounds like a cheaper solution have found a few online but are £25.

I only need one for a few weeks/months as it is only whilst my mare is away from yard to foal and she is currenly stabled by night. Once she has foaled she will probably be living out 24 hours.

Single duvet cover its is.

Oh btw you can get dog bags thermatex do fab ones which is mad efrom same material as their rugs. does a brilliant job my terrier uses one.

thanks for all the suggestions

I have seen plenty of hay bags around, they look really good, i sadly for my car have transported hay lately with no hay bags and my car is awful, but it is a bit old anyway, but i will be giving it a nice spring clean soon, though i suspect it will take me hours to get all that hay out, its everywhere bar the front two seats!

Why not have a towbar on your car & buy yourself an old trailer, you can pick them up cheaply. I have one that can carry about 7-8 bales at a time & stops the mess in the car.
