as above really have a yard offering part/full livery, take a 3 horse lorry to competitions, dont make my living from horses. can I take my liveries to comps or not:(:(

Best to check with your insurance company. Normally you can't charge a fee for taking other horses to comps as that would come under the exclusions of 'hire and reward' in your insurance. Not sure how the insurers would view the YO bit as you already have a business relationship with the liveries. They may want to see a copy of your livery contract.

Can see your point though in that it makes sense to share the transport and maybe accept small cash contribution towards diesel.

I would be carefull as OP said about insurance the other thing is the lorry you would have to prove you wern'nt doing it for reward if you got stoped by VOSA
they are rigorously inforcing private use only or the full opperators licence rules so if they think you are doing it as part of your business or for gain they could impound the lorry..
its being done to so the profesonal haulage people arn't put at a competive disadvantage by people who dont follow all the rules to the letter and to make europe's haulage industry
the most regulated in the world and hopefully as a result they think the safest..
