transporting saddles to shows

just after some tips on taking saddle to a show etc...

I have looked at various products to carry them, like the saddle bags, and saddle mate thingys, but they are all a bit pricey.

What is the best way??

I just have a fleece cover I picked up on ebay for £6!!! Its great, keeps them clean and is cheap and cheerful!!!

I have just a normal free standing saddle horse and put a big towel over it. I used to then wedge it into the back of my landrover. When I moved over to a lorry stood it in the spare bay wedged in with a water barrell. Its quite useful because you can then take it outside and use it when you tack up/untack and also for use at home (safer than balancing over the stable door).
