Ok so this might be a odd question so bare with me!!

When my lad rubs the point of his hip. It goes sore to touch, then after afew days the bits of skin come up though the hair. Not nice, and leaves him slighly bald!

He has done this a few times when i first got him, and again the other week. (because trainer put him in too small of a space

)I have since figured out that if he had a fairly thick rug on he's fine and it doesnt rub. This is fine in winter, but in summer he has to have thickish rugs on, then we take them off as soon as we arrive.

Do you think we could stitch something into a thin rug to stop it? Does anyone else have this problem.

Thanks.

I sew/stick fleecey pads into the chest of my mares light weight rugs to stop them rubbing so u should be able to do something similar into the lining of the rugs u normally use.

I was thinking of stitching a leg pad on each side, so if rug moved for whatever reason, padding would be there in large area.

Silk wouldnt be much help i dont think, as i think its the partitions rubbing so needs the extra thickness in that area.

Thanks everyone.
