Travellers selling power tools

Had travellers round a friends yard yesterday trying to sell power tools, they have been spotted on a few yards, I wouldnt bothered but I'm sure I remember reading about it online somewhere, can anyone find any info? Just seen on a local fb group that the police are aware.

They're usually what they've nicked from somewhere else. Don't touch with a barge pole.

Got reg num and police are already aware, it's a distinctive truck as well. I wouldn't buy them, I'm sure I read something about them being fake or something? I keep my lorry there so I was a bit bothered they were trying to have a nosey x

Interesting,a chap in the next village had his chainsaws and power tools stolen on Mon night/Tues morning.Wherabouts are these people selling them?

Friends in our village have also had theirs taken. Where are these people selling tools?

There was a post about this in the lost formum a couple of weeks ago, they seem to 'travel' all over the country and the police seem to be infomed but they still keep appearing in different areas. It always seems to be linked to chainsaws.

Certainly when they were in our area they were found inside a farm house, luckily before anything went missing in our area, and police were informed. They do seem to target the more isolated areas.

Absolutely get them out of your yard immediately as what they are doing is checking out your yard and the security so that they can return and relieve you of your property. This includes horses, tack, feed, rugs, equipment, tools, gates or anything.
Make sure that all your horses are freezemarked on a part of their body that can be seen when they are ridden and that all tack, rugs etc. is marked with your postcode.
