Hiya! Sorry for my ignorance if a similar question has already been posted, but i was wondering what your advice when travelling a weanling would be? My colt will be 5 months when i bring him home, and the journey is normally around an hour and a half from the stud to my yard.
Would he be alright do you think in a trailer or would it be less traumatic for him to go in a lorry?
Tied up? or loose?

Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Travel him in either trailer or lorry. If you use your trailer then take the partitions and bars out and travel him loose. If you use your lorry make sure he can't duck under the partitions - if its a possibility then take them out. Again, travel him loose.

He'll be fine

Yes, loose in a trailer with no partitions, or in a lorry with partitions if they are floor to ceiling ones. If you go for the trailer option, make sure you shut the top doors as well!!!

An hour and a half is a long journey for a weanling in a trailer though; maybe a lorry would be better anyway?

loose in trailer or lorry, although i would definately say no partitions, room to roam! and quite a deep bedding, just in case of tiredness and wanting to lie down
