travelling advice

Very sadly my horse is leaving saturday to live as companion .
He doesnt like travel boots and when I took him to vets several months ago travelled very well with no protection but this was much shorter journey.He tries to kick boots off his back legs.Hes fine with brushing boots etc.I would like to give him some protection and have some fleece bandages would they be any good or would I need something underneath them.The other option is his turnout boots as they protect from hoof to midway up his front leg.
The journey is 5 hours the lorry has cctv which is good and they will make water stops etc.He is travelling with proffessional transporter .
Any tips to make his journey more comfortable .

He'd be fine in the turnout boots - I travelled mine 4 hrs north when we moved and they were fine

I'd go for his turnout boots as i'd imagine he's used to them. As they're made to be worn in the field they'll be less restrictive and so he should be comfy in them.

Thank you its been heartbreaking and I know ill be in pieces saturday but he is going to wonderful home.Lady has several rescued horses works with rspca has 10 acres and if he never comes sound he still has home for life.She is studying alternative type medicines and healing for horses and wants a horse to work with .He will have lots of tlc more than he would as companion with massages lots of walks in hand and loads of company and great turnout.I really cant ask for more.I am travelling up to see him once he has settled and will probably gift him to her.
I cant keep him in small paddocks and limited grazing for years he will be much happier with what she has to offer.Thanks for hugs I will be needing them

He'll be fine without anything. My 5 yr old hates bots too and travels better without. I noticed the derby contenders were coming off their lorries with no back boots and they are worth millions.

He will probably be fine without boots even for that long journey. Better without than new boots or bandages that he is not used to and being uncomfortable or losing his footing.

I know you wanted a different ending but it does sound like he has fallen on his hooves and will have a nice retirement with plenty of attention.

thanks slinky its about time he had some luck ,he doesnt deserve any of the injuries hes had hes such a lovely horse.
