I am moving 4.5hrs away.
I have 2 ponies, 1 who travels well, 1.5 hrs is the max we have done in our trailer.
The other pony is a bit of an unknown.
Question 1...
Trailer them and hope for the best (eeek) or hire of pro. My preference is the second.
Question 2...
What to wear... tail protection is a given.
First pony wears fleece wraps well... second pony is unknown.
My instinct is bandage both... but concerned they will get hot.
Cooler or not, both are unrugged, unclipped natives. First pony doesn't sweat in the trailer. Second pony unknown, I have a feeling she will be a bit stressy.
I am considering thatching under a cooler just in case as they are travelling mid January and will likely arrive 3pm, traffic permitting.
Thanks in advance

Hire a pro.

How big/old are the ponies? It might be that they could both go loose in a stud box if one might be a bit dodgy.

Don’t over think the kit - most are better naked, or close too (unless fully clipped).

Hire a pro. Remove all the stress of moving.

I'd transport any of mine that distance but I know them all well and I'm confident driving them about. If you're stressing about it I'd just delegate that job and save yourself the bother. Pro transporter will figure it all out for you.
I only put a tailguard on one of mine if travelling backwards as she sits on her tail, don't bother with any of the others.

If unshod I would probably not bandage esp the unknown one.
And 2 unclipped horses in a box... unless it was very cold i wouldn't rug either, they will generate a fair bit of warmth.

Yes getting hot is my worry... I will let them regulate themselves and go naked. Thank you

Nice idea... my little one is bossy, I wouldn't rely on her to give the younger one reassurance!! But I will give that some thought. They are 12hh and 13.1hh
