My horse hates the bulky travel boots, and kicks out really badly when wearing them. I decided to travel him naked on Friday as his legs were wet, and he trod on a shoe, stepped it off, and then stepped back on it, ending in pain and causing a huge kerfuffle as he couldn't balance for us to get him home with the shoe on.
On the way back, he completely ripped one of his back boots, and now I am absolutely terrified of travelling him without them, even though I know he hates them and kicks out the whole journey in them
I really don't know what to do, I have used sports boots and stable wrap type boots before, but none of those would have prevented what happened on Friday
So can't help, but will be watching this thread to see what people think.
Never really had any problems, but you could use the gamgee and stable bandages, but also put overreach boots on to prevent them standing on their shoes?
Even with travel boots on Iv always used overreach boots all round, its not "daft" to put them all around, as it works, but be warned you might get some "does that muppet know what shes doing" looks when you unload him, as I have in the past, but hey ho who cares if it works.
