This is probably a silly question, but I am about to travel my horse for the first time in the dark. Should I travel him with the trailer light on, or can he see in the dark anyway?! ANy tips to ensure a safe journey please?

Does he usually carry a torch out in the field at night?

Nah - he'll be fine with the light off

I usually have the lights on in the horse bit of my lorry when its dark....not sure if you have to have them on tho, sorry...not much help!!

Is there some regulation about not having lights showing from the back of the trailer / lorry while you are travelling? Am sure someone told me that once.

I'm not sure??? There wouldn't be light coming out of the back of a lorry but may be issue with trailer if that is the case? Really have no idea tho!

should be fine with the lights off, we used to load our boy in the dark with just the lights from the yard which gave enough so you could make the ramp out.he never had a problem 'seeing'where he was going
