Travelling mare and foal

In 2009 we plan to travel our mare and foal to county shows.
First show would be when thee foal was about 12 weeks old.
Never having travelled a mare and foal before I would welcome your views on what is the best method you have used.
I would guess that the mare would be tied as normal and the foal would be loose in the same stall.

Having travelled many mares and foals round county shows yes tie mare up and foal loose (with no headcollar on)....large area so at least double partition and plenty of bedding. Good luck at your shows.
