This is totally non horsey but just thought I'd see what people think...

Have just given up my horse as my job doesnt pay that well and I'm fed up of struggling to pay for the basics, feel a little bit of time out may be the best idea to save some money (missing horses already :()
I do work with them (Groom on a livery yard) so still involved with them and have been offered a few to ride.

Iv recently taken on a dog that my YO found as a stray-she has no microchip, was in poor condition and noone seems to have looked for her so I have now taken her on as mine. Had her for a few months now and she is looking fab and I love her to bits.

HOWEVER, I've been thinking about travelling for ages and I really really want to go, my friend goes to Uni in Sept and we both would love to get away til then and go work abroad. My job isnt what I want to do forever and I have no idea what I want to do so no career path, im Just sort of drifting and I'm fed up with it, want to enjoy life and see some new things, get out of England.

But.... I have the dog :( Shes not great at being left(she has separation anxiety) so I just think its not possible.
I couldnt rehome her(that would be totally selfish and unfair), I couldnt afford to kennel her for a few months (and again be unfair) and my Mum wont keep her at home if I went as she cant be left so is difficult.
So looks like I'm stuck but I cant stop thinking about it!

Dont want to miss out on something that I could regret for rest of my life but I have a commitment to my dog and I chose to take her on, I know all this.

Just wondering if anyone has any other options, any ideas, opinions on what you'd do??

Sorry for the essay *chinese takeway for anyone who reads this!*

It's a difficult one, but you don't want to regret not taking the opportunity to travel. Maybe speak to the local vet or rehoming centre, they might know of someone who would foster your dog whilst you are away.
