Hi in 2 weeks im competing in Ireland, my pony is used to travelling and I was just wondering if theres anyting I should be aware off any problems people have had travelling overseas? or any recommendations ive already been told to get some electro salts but just wondering if anyones had any problems before with horses legs or dehydration etc .. Thanks!

Ensure your lorry has PLENTY of ventilation

make sure your pony has a ton of haylage and offer water right before you go up to the decks on the ferry.

If you need to stretch your horses legs do this at SERVICES not at the ferry port

Make sure your pony is upto date with his vaccinations especially equine flu

Just stop every 4 hours restock haylage and offer water

Ensure you have plenty of drinks and sweeties etc to keep you going as well

Enjoy and have fun

Nothing to add on from foraday's post except I'd advise against travel boots and a tail bandage. I've travelled a lot with neds using very good transporters and both said they don't recommend using either.
