Hi all, I was wondering if people that drive and transport horses for you tend to need vaccinations up to date? The new yard we’re going to doesn’t need them, transport has been booked but she hasn’t asked about if they’re vaccinated- we haven’t had the pony in question long and haven’t got him vaccinated yet - he’s 31 so worried how it might effect him if he has side effects aswell if we have his first lot this week whether he’ll still be okay to travel.
What are peoples thoughts?

Is he on a shared load or going on his own? I'm surprised the new yard doesn’t require at least a flu vaccine (and every horse should be vaccinated for tetanus anyway), though a 31 year old pony may have a sufficient vacc history for tetanus that I would be less concerned.
