I intend to, when I can afford to! I use the Skoda for longer journeys as it has a huge boot and would easily take our future dog too but I'll never get two in the Micra safely. I'm saving up for a Honda CR-V and intend to have a crate in the back of it. :) It's not just a case of accomodating the dog(s) but the various gear as well, I'll want to take the mountain bike or future scooter to good training spots plus all the lines, harnesses etc.

Not myself but my Dad always has a 'dog car' - Vectra Estate with big cage in boot at present! In future, depending on how often my dogs are travelling with me I may do.

This thread has reminded me, I was driving my ma's Focus last week and she had done something with the back seats and one had flopped down while I was driving. All of a sudden there was this rather wet, hairy gentleman sitting almost level with me, giving me a quizzical look 'ah, so this is what goes on up here?'
And me: 'Er, what are YOU doing up here?!'

I'm amazed no one has admitted to travelling their dog in body of car un restrained!! I know LOADS of people who don't!!

1) What kind of dog you have / how many?
Have three dogs; a very old minature pinscher, a middle aged border terrier, and a young hooligan of a minature poodle

2) What kind of car do you have?
Honda Civic estate type thing (mine) / VW Golf (shared between hubby and me) / Audi S4 (hubby's)

3) Where in the car do you put your dog(s)?
In the boot in the honda, in the boot in the Golf, on the backseat of the Audi

4) Do you have any restraints / gadgets you use for your dog(s) in the car?
A boot guard thingy that keeps them in the boot of the Honda. I have tried all sorts - letting them travel loose (border terrier hated this, he's a worried traveller). I've tried seat belts - pain in the backside when there's more than one. I've tried crating, but if I travel them frequently which I do -then it just takes up too much room. Happiest for me and the dogs is travelling in the boot - even for the BT who hates the car.

In the Golf we tend to crate if necessary - but the Audi there's no room. So these cars we only take them for short trips, and it tends to be a free for all nightmare. We tend to use the Honda.
