I've recently bought a new leather saddle but my saddler didn't mention what products to use to look after it. I'm reluctant to use oil and have put Horsemans One Step on so far.

Can anyone recommend any products to use to keep it in tip top condition? Thanks :)

Personally I'd not touch OneStep, the person I trust to know about conditioners (as they don't list their ingredients) really doesn't like it. And never use anything as one step, get the dirt off the saddle first then condition it, otherwise your "cleaning" regime simply pushes dirt into the leather.

I like and recommend Oakwood Conditioner, Effax Ledebalsam, Stubben Hamanol (quite rich) and the Leather Therapy range of products. Others may be good but unless someone in the know has analysed them, I can't recommend them.

THIS ^^^^
And you are wise to avoid oiling it or any leather with just oil of any kind

I haven't analysed it but when I was trialling the first VSD saddle for Schleese I was asked to condition it a few times to start with. When I asked with what, they gave me some Passier conditioner, and I guess they know what they are talking about. It does do a great job with all leather work, even bridle stuff which has been left for years.
