It's been a good few years since I had to deal with a splint, so could do with a bit of advice.
Splint appeared 2 days ago on the inside of the right hind leg. It is hot, but I can palpate it with no reaction. Horse is very slighly lame in trot, but completely comforatble in walk.
Is cold hosing and rest (field rest as horse doesn't do box rest!) still the way to deal with splints?
Is there anything that's easier or more effective than cold hosing?
I'm not particually bothered about reducing the size of the splint.
Thankyou
