My young rather oversized horse forgot about the length of his legs in the field one day and cut himself quite deeply on a hind leg which has been stiched and has recovered well despite him being such a poor healer. The only problem is his whole leg swole up with him being on box rest and although the lower leg swelling goes down with work the hock is very, very large.
Does anyone have any advice on dealing with capped hocks? I dont want to have it injected as I feel that is to extreme at the moment. I am using a magnetic wrap which certainly makes the swelling softer however it does not reduce its size. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks in advance
