Treats for the treat ball

Just wondering what others put in their treat balls (the ones the horse rolls around on the ground). I use Heygates Horse and Pony nuts as they don't need soaking and they are small enough to come out of the ball if my horse manages to kick or nudge the ball the right way. The bigger treats like Naf Minty Treats are too hard to get out (or so my horse complains)

I put my conditioning nuts in them

Own brand pony nuts. Conditioning cubes if they need condition. Sometimes I put country mix in for a change. My boys dont get any other feed, but have treat balls for breakfast.

Ive lost 3 treatballs, but I have youngsters so I sort of expect it. They're always cheap at tack sales etc.

I've always used High fibre nuts for them but would use own brand pony nuts.
Ponies live their treat balls but not had them for a few years as current field is on a hill and they'll roll down into the next paddock.

Mine kicks his round and round the stable making a hell of a racket especially when it gets stuck in a corner and he stamps on it till it moves. Why can't he just push it nicely with his nose?

Mine would lose his in 5 minutes if I gave it him in the field, the distance he can kick it.
I use pony nuts except on special occasions when he gets minty treats or Aldi mint imperials.

The first time I gave my mare a treat ball she rolled it all over the field, followed by a donkey who hoovered up all the nuts.

Now mine are wise and simply bash it against a wall, so it rolls back to them, until empty.

I switch between Bailey's fibre nuggets and the Equerry spearmint ones... my two absolutely love them! One pushes his around logically with his nose, the other launches his across the field and chases it haha really does show their difference in personality!
