TREC & TRECnical training

GB TREC team member Sheila Watson and instructor Gaynor Ranshaw (BD judge) will be holding a fun day of training that will focus on the requirements for TREC but will be just as beneficial for people wanting to simply enjoy getting the most of the out of their horses.
A.M.
The morning riding session will include instruction from Sheila on the various obstacle (PTV & MA) requirements of TREC while Gaynor will be on hand to help with the technical aspects of the aids and how to get your horses to perform these movements to the best of yours and their ability.
LUNCH
We will break for a feast of a lunch (included in the course fee) where everyone can discuss how they’ve got on in the morning and get to know each other.
P.M.
After lunch participants can either have a map reading session (unmounted) with Sheila; or they can choose to continue the technical ridden training in the arena with Gaynor.
HACK / ARENA
Following a short refreshment break, participants either go for a shadowed orienteering “hack with a map†which will include beach riding, or hone their obstacle endeavours in the arena.
GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING
Map reading: please bring your compass, pens and map case (contact Sheila if you need details). Maps will be supplied.
Flu vaccinations: must be up to date.
Insurance: Third party required minimum – insurance confirmation required.
Course numbers 8-10 mounted participants (note: a minimum number is critical to the running of this course)
COSTS
Course fee £70 per person (including lunch, refreshments, maps)
Additional unmounted places for map reading & orienteering class £25 per person (bring a bike ?)
Lunch & refreshments for non course participants £12.50
Stables available on 1st come basis (£10 per day use or £20 overnight)
DEPOSIT £35 deposit.
